In 2014, Foxes Island founder and winemaker John Belsham created two exceptional wines for the Artist Series: a Pinot Noir and La Lapine, a renowned Sauvignon Blanc from the Belsham Awatere Estate in Marlborough. Designed for wine collectors and lovers of fine art, these limited wines showcase the purity, provenance, and precision for which Foxes Island is known.
The Artist Series Pinot Noir is sourced from the first terrace planted on the Awatere Estate — John’s favourite block and consistently one of the site’s finest expressions. In the outstanding 2014 vintage, this terrace produced fruit of rare finesse and complexity, inspiring the first Artist Series release.
Each bottle features Sunbird Karaoke by New Zealand artist Kirsty Black. The artwork’s vivid energy symbolises joy, freedom, and the bright intensity of living life fully — a perfect complement to the elegance and vitality of the wines.
